Make a Quality Book Donation

In partnership with the National English Honor Society of Trumbull High School, our book collection process is now up and running!  Drop your donations in the convenient drop box right outside the school’s front entrance, located just two miles from NCB, at 72 Strobel Road. We are looking to add new or nearly new books of every genre with the exception of reference books and dictionaries. Students use the following guidelines when selecting books to sell from our inventory. We ask that you consider the same criteria:

A book that is quality book is a book in good condition:

  • The cover is not torn or stained.

  • The pages are not faded or yellow.

  • There is no writing in the book.

How to Help

Thank you for visiting Next Chapter Books!

Many have asked how to support our efforts.  In keeping with our core mission to create a space for and with the community, we are glad to share the following ways to contribute:

Sponsor a Bookcase

This fundraising campaign provides community members and businesses with an exclusive opportunity to Sponsor a Bookcase in our shop.

The cost to sponsor various sizes of bookcases ranges from $250 to $1,000. All donors will be recognized with commemorative plaques to be placed permanently on the bookcases.  If you are interested in learning more about making a contribution in this manner, please email Barbara Beaman for more information -bbeaman@trumbullps.org.

Volunteer with the Friends of ELITE

Friends of ELITE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to support the students of ELITE, the Trumbull transitional program for individuals with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 22. As a Friends group, we strive to assist these students as they explore the world of work and social opportunities in the community. Friends of ELITE supports ELITE’s activities including, but not limited to, its retail used bookstore, Next Chapter Books (NCB).

Become a member – it’s free!

  • Volunteer to become a Committee Chair. We need people who will coordinate gathering volunteers from the general community and from Trumbull High. We also need an Events Coordinator who will help form committees to host various activities.(Author Visits/Book Talks, Poetry Night, Children’s storytime, Bingo, Karaoke Nights & more.)

  • Volunteer to serve on a specific committee. This could be for an event, for fund raising, to write grants, or to help inform and recruit local businesses to offer site work.

  • Help provide support in getting our messages across to the membership by way of social media, including our website and newsletter.
